What information we collect
This section describes the categories of personal information we collect and where it comes from.
Information you give us
- Demo applications and bookings. When you apply for or book a demo, we collect your business email, first name, business type, how many machines you buy, sell or source, your website, what you want help with, your cell phone number, and the time you book. We save answers as you type them, including if you leave before finishing.
- Account and search setup. When you use the Services, we collect your name, email, phone number, company, and the search criteria you give us, such as makes, models, hours, specs, budget and location.
- Billing. When you pay for the Services, our third-party payment processors collect your name, billing address and payment card details. We do not store full card numbers.
- Calls and communications. When you email, text or call us, we keep what you send us. Calls we schedule may be recorded for quality and training purposes, as stated when you book.
- Free-form content. Text you type into open fields, such as a machine you want us to look for, may include personal information. Please don't include sensitive information.
- Inferences. We may draw conclusions from the information above, such as which machines and prices are most relevant to you.
By giving us personal information, you confirm it is accurate and that you are allowed to share it.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Site or Services, we automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, device identifiers, the page that referred you, the pages you view and actions you take, and when and how long you visit. We also record whether you open or click our emails and texts.
We collect this through server logs, cookies, local storage, pixels and similar tools (see Cookies and similar technologies). When you arrive from an ad, we record campaign details from the link, such as UTM tags and ad click IDs, so we know which ads bring in applications. Where we combine this information with personal information, we treat it as personal information.
Information about others
If you invite a colleague to a demo or to the Services, we collect their email address to send the invitation and follow up. Only invite people you know who expect to hear from us. Either of you can ask us to remove that information at privacy@hevku.com.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, save application progress so you can pick up where you left off, measure how the Site is used, and measure and target our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Site may not work properly without them.
Where required by law, we treat a valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising.
Advertising platforms and other third parties whose tools appear on our Site may set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies, and their use is governed by those companies' own policies. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
Information from other sources
We may receive information about you from advertising platforms, analytics providers, scheduling and calendar tools, and public business sources, and combine it with the information we hold. This Privacy Policy covers that combined information.
Sensitive information
We do not ask for or intend to collect sensitive information, such as health data, biometric data, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, or information about race, religion, political views or sexual orientation. Please don't send it to us.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Review applications, schedule and confirm demos, and prepare for your call;
- Follow up with you by email, phone or text, including if you started an application but didn't finish it;
- Set up and run your searches, score listings, and send you deal alerts;

- Any other purpose we tell you about when we collect the information.
Communication choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the link in any email, or by contacting privacy@hevku.com. It may take up to ten business days to process your request. You will still receive service, security and transactional messages.
If you give us your mobile number, we may send you calls and texts about your application, demo reminders and deal alerts. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, or by emailing privacy@hevku.com.
Your access rights
To access, update or delete personal information we hold about you, email privacy@hevku.com. We will act on deletion requests within a reasonable time, but may keep some information where the law requires it or we have a legitimate reason to do so.
Links to other sites
Our Services link to sites we don't own or operate. This Privacy Policy doesn't apply to those sites, and we aren't responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before giving them personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, unless the law requires or allows us to keep it longer. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.
Children
Our Services are for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you think we may have, contact privacy@hevku.com.
European privacy notice
This section applies only to people located in Europe. "Personal information" in this policy includes "personal data" as defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Hevku is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact details are in Contacting us.
Legal bases for processing
We process personal data on these legal bases:
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact us for more detail on the basis we rely on for a specific purpose.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it erased, restrict how we process it, receive it in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. To use these rights, contact privacy@hevku.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
International transfers
Hevku is based in the United States, and we and our service providers store and process data in the United States. If you use the Services from Europe, your personal data will be transferred to the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as your country. Where required, we use safeguards recognized under European law for these transfers, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
California privacy notice
This section applies to California residents and explains how we handle personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (the "CCPA"). It does not apply to information exempt from the CCPA.
Categories we collect and disclose. In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories below, from the sources described in What information we collect.
Purposes. We use these categories for the purposes in How we use personal information, including the business purposes the CCPA lists: providing and maintaining the Services, customer service, verifying information, processing payments, auditing ad performance, security, debugging, internal research and product development, and quality assurance. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Sales and sharing. Our use of advertising partners may be a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA. You can opt out by emailing privacy@hevku.com or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Retention. We keep each category for as long as described in How long we keep information.
Your rights. California residents may have the right to:
- Know the categories of personal information we collected, its sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed, sold or shared it with in the past 12 months;
- Access a copy of the personal information we collected about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we collected from you;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights.
To make a request, email privacy@hevku.com. We will verify your request by matching it to information we hold, and may ask for more information to do so. An authorized agent may make a request for you if you give them written permission and verify your identity with us. These rights have exceptions, and we may deny a request in whole or in part where the law allows.
We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
Shine the Light. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes as described in California Civil Code Section 1798.83.

This section applies to residents of US states with consumer privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Montana, Oregon, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Kentucky, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Minnesota and Maryland. When each law applies varies by state.
We collect the categories of personal information in What information we collect for the purposes in How we use personal information, and share them as described in When we share personal information. This includes sharing online identifiers and activity data with analytics providers, ad networks and social media platforms to measure our marketing and show relevant ads. You can opt out of this.
Depending on your state, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information and learn which third parties, or categories of third parties, we shared it with;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete your personal information;
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sales of personal information, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects; and
- Get a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
To make a request, email privacy@hevku.com. We verify requests as described in the California section above and won't discriminate against you for using your rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We keep de-identified data in de-identified form and won't try to re-identify it except as the law allows.
How we secure information
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including encrypting data in transit, limiting staff access to those who need it, and reviewing the security of the providers we use.
No website, network or storage system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us. You send information at your own risk.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will change the "Last updated" date when we do. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you before they apply to information we already hold. Continuing to use the Services after an update means the updated policy applies.
